On November 22nd this author had just settled down for a night of relaxation, word of President-Elect Trumps’ glorious win and the sight of liberal tears of disbelief can instill a sense of calm and serenity in a normal person. This night “Sean Hannity” of fox news was chosen for entertainment due to his accurate opinions and often correct take on the world.
While watching the show, a controversial idea was suggested and it is this opinion that is the subject of this article. More was said, but the quote below highlights the entire opinion.
“Maybe it is time to change the traditional relationship the press will have with the White House. In this day and age of Twitter and Facebook and Instagram does Trump really need to be granting access to biased journalists who openly oppose him?…. Now Trump can do this and speak directly to you, the American people, without having his words twisted and taken out of context….”
The entire opinion can be found here.
The media made no attempt to hide the coziness it had with the Clinton campaign nor does it attempt to hide it’s liberal bias, disdain for Trump or his transition team. One might think the first Amendment of the Constitution would prevent such an action, but that is incorrect. That Amendment is only in place to protect their right to say whatever they want, it isn’t there to ensure the left-wing media has exclusive access to the White House.
One of the main reasons President-Elect Trump does not do something like this is because abolishing the White House press core could be detrimental to his administration. Trumps ability to use the media to his advantage is uncanny. Future administrations would also be affected, and who is to say the press will remain hostile to other Republican Presidents. President-Elect Trump has already been in closed door meetings with CNN, MSNBC, NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, Fox News and the liberal bastion, the New York Times. Perhaps “Hannity” saying these things was a political maneuver to warn the liberal media this is an option that is on the table.
It will be interesting to see if the media continues it’s assault on the President and if they do, the White House’s press briefing room may soon be used for storage.
